Pharmacy First Services
Get treatment for seven common conditions directly from our pharmacy — including sinusitis, sore throat, earache, UTI, shingles, impetigo, and infected insect bites — without needing a GP appointment. Electronic Prescription Service
Receive your NHS prescriptions electronically — fast, paperless, and convenient. Simply nominate Mill Road Pharmacy as your preferred dispenser and we'll have your medication ready for collection. You can nominate us on the NHS App, at your GP surgery, or by asking in the pharmacy.
Prescription Dispensing
We dispense all NHS prescriptions. Our pharmacists are on hand to answer any questions about your medication, dosage, and potential interactions.
NHS Seasonal Flu Vaccination
Free NHS flu vaccination for eligible patients including over-65s, pregnant women, and those with certain health conditions. No GP appointment needed — walk in during the flu season.
COVID Vaccination
NHS COVID vaccinations for eligible patients as part of the national vaccination programme. Our pharmacists administer vaccinations safely and efficiently.
Blood Pressure Checks
Free for eligible patients under the NHS hypertension case-finding service, or available as a paid service. No appointment needed — walk in for a confidential blood pressure check and receive personalised advice from our pharmacist.
Contraception Service
Confidential NHS contraception consultations with our trained pharmacists. We can discuss your options and supply appropriate contraception without the need for a GP visit.
Emergency Hormonal Contraception
Discreet and fast access to emergency hormonal contraception (the morning after pill) through the NHS. Speak privately with one of our pharmacists — no appointment required.
Chlamydia Testing & Treatment
Confidential NHS chlamydia testing and treatment for those aged 15–24. Our pharmacists provide a discreet, non-judgemental service with fast results.
C-Card Scheme
Free condoms for young people aged 13–24 through the NHS C-Card scheme. Access free contraception in a safe, confidential setting.
Urgent Medication Services
Run out of essential medication? Our pharmacists can provide an urgent supply of certain prescription medicines when you are unable to contact your GP, ensuring you never go without critical treatment.
Disposal of Unwanted Medicines
Safely dispose of unwanted, expired, or unused medicines at our pharmacy. This free NHS service helps protect the environment and prevents medicines from being misused.
Flu Vaccination (Private)
Private flu vaccination available for individuals who do not qualify for the free NHS jab. Protect yourself and your family with a quick in-pharmacy vaccination.
Travel Clinic — Vaccines, Supplies & Antimalarials
Comprehensive travel health service including personalised consultations, a full range of travel vaccines (Typhoid, Hepatitis A/B, and more), antimalarial tablets, and travel health supplies. Consultation fee is £20, which is deducted from the cost if any medications or vaccines are purchased.
Weight Management Service
Clinically-led weight management programme with personalised support and access to GLP-1 medications such as Wegovy and Mounjaro, subject to an eligibility assessment by our pharmacist.
Dispensing Private Prescriptions
We dispense a wide range of private prescriptions competitively. Our pharmacists will ensure you understand your medication and answer any questions you may have.
Delivery Services
Can't make it to the pharmacy? We offer a local delivery service for your prescriptions and pharmacy purchases. Please note this is a chargeable service — contact us to find out more about delivery options and charges in your area.
